Follow up session - Sunday 16 May
Join us at this optional session to develop the priorities from the Open Space. All welcome, 2pm - 4pm, Sunday 16 May at Pangea Project (72 Stamford Hill, N16 6XS - opposite the supermarket).
Who should come?
Everyone who has an interest in Stoke Newington's future, and working together as a community to create an environmentally sustainable and resilient Stoke Newington, that is also a great place to live.
What is 'open space'?
The OPEN SPACE format has helped many Transitions Towns work out what they want to do together. It's also used all around the world as a way to hold better, more productive gatherings and meetings. The event will not feature expert speakers or presentations: anyone expecting the usual carefully controlled day may find the format unusual. On the other hand, if you are up for a bit of (organised) chaos and excitement you will probably enjoy it very much. This video may help
The people who attend will set the agenda on the day, and most of our time will be spent in highly flexible, small groups, discussing the topics that have been suggested. If you find yourself in a group that you’re not learning from or contributing to, you will be actively encouraged to move on to another.
What happens on the day?
The short answer is, everything and anything! After a short welcome and introduction, we will all gather together to suggest topics for discussion. We will break into small groups to discuss the various topics in three slots throughout the day. There will be three discussion slots in total: one before lunch and two after. At the end of the third slot, the whole group will get together again to decide what the most important things are that we want to do together.
And then what ...?
Everybody who comes will get a summary of what was talked about and the good ideas people came up with. An optional follow up session, to develop the priorities from the Open Space, will take place the next day (Sunday 16th May). Big thanks to Rosie and Selim at Pangea Project for kindly donating the use of the space to TTSN for this and our monthly social events.
